AutomaTagThese terms apply to the AutomaTag Android app (package com.fillobotto.mp3tagger), the paid features you can buy in it, and this website. AutomaTag is developed and sold by Filippo Bottonelli, a self-employed developer based in Italy who publishes as fillobotto (VAT number IT03755571209, "we", "us"). By installing or using the app, you agree to these terms. The privacy policy explains what data the app processes.
1. Your license to use the app
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use AutomaTag on devices you own or control, under these terms and the Google Play Terms of Service. The app, its code and its design remain ours. You may not copy, resell or redistribute the app, remove its notices, or reverse engineer it except where the law allows you to.
2. The free version
- Editing tags by hand, online lookup one song at a time and cover art search are free. The free version shows ads served by Google AdMob.
- In batch modes you can watch a short video to earn a credit. Each credit runs one batch. Credits have no cash value and can't be transferred or exchanged.
3. Paid features
- You can buy Batch modes, Audio fingerprinting (which also unlocks the full duplicate finder), or both together as AutomaTag Pro. Each is a one-time purchase. There is no subscription, and any purchase removes ads.
- Google Play shows you the price, in your currency, before you confirm the purchase. The feature unlocks right after the payment goes through.
- Purchases are linked to the Google account you bought with. To get them back on a new device or after reinstalling, open Paid features from the app menu and tap Restore now.
- With Google Play Pass, all paid features are included for as long as your Play Pass membership is active. They stop when the membership ends, unless you also bought them.
4. Payments and refunds
All payments are processed by Google Play, and we never see your payment details. Refunds follow Google Play's refund policies and can be requested from Google Play. If a purchase doesn't work as it should, contact us with your order number and we will help.
Paid features are digital content that unlocks as soon as you buy it. Where the law allows, you agree to this immediate unlock, and the statutory right of withdrawal ends once the feature is unlocked. This doesn't limit Google Play's refund options or your rights if a feature doesn't work as described.
5. Your music files
AutomaTag writes tags and covers directly into the audio files on your device. You review the suggested changes before they are saved, and you are responsible for the files you choose to edit. We recommend keeping a backup of your music library, especially before you tag many songs at once.
6. Song information from third parties
Titles, artists, albums, covers and other song information come from third-party music databases and from the AutomaTag server. We work to find the best match, but we can't guarantee that every result is complete or correct. This information and the cover images belong to their respective owners and are provided for organizing your own music.
7. Online services
Online lookup and audio fingerprinting rely on servers run by us and by third parties. We work to keep them available, but they may sometimes be slow or unavailable, and the providers we use may change over time. Don't use scripts, bots or modified versions of the app to send requests to our servers, or try to disrupt them. We may limit or block traffic that does.
8. Updates
We update AutomaTag to fix bugs, add features and keep up with Android and Google Play. Updates may change how features work or which Android versions are supported. We do our best to keep every paid feature working, including the ones that rely on online services such as audio fingerprinting, but we can't guarantee that they will always be available.
9. Warranty and liability
AutomaTag, including its paid features and online services, is provided "as is" and without warranty, to the extent the law allows. We are not liable for indirect damages or for loss of data in files you chose to edit, unless it was caused by our intent or gross negligence.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer, including the legal guarantee of conformity for digital content you buy.
10. Ending these terms
You can stop using AutomaTag at any time by uninstalling it. If you seriously break these terms, for example by abusing our servers, we may suspend your access to the online services. Your purchases stay linked to your Google account.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the app changes. The "Last updated" date above shows when they last changed. If you keep using the app after a change, the updated terms apply.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by Italian law. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in the courts there.
